Senior Manager - IT Audit Job

Job Purpose

To perform complex IT audit and special assignments in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter and annual audit plan with a focus on applications, technology infrastructure (such as networks, databases, platforms), and IT processes (such as security, business continuity, change management, asset and service management.

Key Accountabilities

IT Audit Team Leadership
As Team Leader, management of Audit Assignments (IT Audits, investigations, special and IT project reviews). 

Assist in developing and updating the Audit universe, 3 Year and Annual Audit plan. 
For IT Governance and risk management aspects, contribute to continuous improvement activities supporting Internal Audit management in their responsibilities towards MANCOM and the Board of Directors. 

Contribute to the amendment/development of IT Audit objectives and strategies where warranted (taking into consideration current business environment & operating conditions).

As Team Leader, to manage, direct and review the execution of work during the audit as well as prior to wrap up to ensure adherence to departmental standards and maintenance of best practice standards

IT Governance
Disseminate the need and benefits of adopting IT Governance best practices amongst Auditee Management and provide guidance relative to employing the COBIT framework and/or other management techniques (best practices) to execute jobs in a controlled manner where warranted. 

Provide IT consultation service and education to Auditee management proactively to mitigate risks that may hinder accomplishing system/project objectives and to incorporate adequate controls. 

Provide the focal point for IT security expert opinion for the Internal Audit on information systems related risk/control and technical issues and other aspects.

Project Office
Plan and execute NBF Project Office reviews of project deliverables to ensure Bank projects are following, and are in compliance with, the Project Management Methodology (PMM) approved in 2011.  

Educate NBF Project Managers in using and applying the PMM.  

Development of Staff
Coaches and develops management trainees (UAE Nationals), team members and operational auditors relative to IT Audit.

Audit Work Standards
As Team Leader, plan, manage, lead and execute audit work in accordance within the standards laid out by the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Bank’s audit methodology to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
As Team Leader, responsible for planning, leading and execution of audit assignments as part of Annual IT Audit plan; due-diligence, investigation and special reviews as directed by Internal Audit management.  

Supervise the Audit Team to ensure that audit work is performed efficiently and effectively by focusing on areas of perceived risk relative to the audit area. 

Prepare a clear and concise audit report; conduct audit exit meetings with Auditee management to discuss overall audit results, conclusion and audit ratings.      

Other Accountabilities

Risk Assessment
Independently assess or supervise/evaluate the assessment of IT risks and attendant operational risks. Provide suitable recommendations to Head of Audit/Management to mitigate the same (this may be achieved through performing periodical IT Audits, ongoing review of policies, procedures, system reviews, enhancements etc).

Technology Projects
Provide expert opinion as an independent consultant in projects involving significant information technology risk.

Application Review 
Responsible for planning, leading and performance of application reviews for adequacy of the Bank’s application systems and recommend revisions/amendments where warranted.

Infrastructure Review
Responsible for planning, leading and performance of infrastructure reviews for adequacy of the Bank’s IT infrastructure with reference to Contingency and Disaster Recovery Planning and recommend revisions/amendments where warranted.

IT Process Review
Responsible for planning, leading and performance of IT Process reviews for adequacy of the Bank’s policies and procedures over significant IT processes and recommend revisions/amendments where warranted.

Audit Automation and Technical Support 
Increase audit efficiency and effectiveness by instigating, programming and developing various automated tools such as ACL, continuous monitoring, etc.
Provide the focal point for IT expert opinion for the Internal Audit department. 

Maintain Technical Competence
Maintain awareness of IT environment and audit best practice.

Add Value
Provide value added consultancy advice to senior management whilst retaining objectivity.

Job Context

To ensure strict compliance and control in the audit process.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Commerce, Finance, or Information Technology related subject
IT audit qualification such as CISA/CISM/CISSP is required
Experience and Skills
A minimum of 8 year experience in IT Audit experience of banking/ financial services
