Job Purpose

 

To lead and manage business engagement, solution research, enhancements of products and services in retail, business, Islamic, wholesale banking and support function in line with business strategy, business process reengineering, business analysis, vendor / product selection, development of road maps for implementation of specific initiatives, requirement documentation / review, data modelling, preparation of requirement specification,  functional specification, system test plan, system testing , defect analysis and tracking ,project management, user coordination system testing, user testing, implementation of systems, vendor management, support of banking applications, optimization and standardization of  IT processes to ensure that the IT service is delivered effectively and efficiently in compliance with policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and business needs and business processes are automated and integrated optimally. 
 

Key Accountabilities

 

Relationship Building and Portfolio Management

To lead the process of external benchmarking (in terms of efficiency, revenue-enabling features, risk mitigation) in IT capabilities, innovation and solution research, incorporation of the initiatives in strategic and tactical framework, and the initiation work for project authorization 


Ensure Quality Objectives relevant to Application Development Processes are met.


To manage user engagement proactively and effectively as the Ideation, Implementation, Training and IT support partner to the user groups

To manage reengineering of business processes / business analysis effectively and efficiently 

To manage portfolio of projects scope, design, schedule and quality criteria. 

Accountable for system quality assurance

Job Context

 

The Role holder would need to co-ordinate with various departments on IT service delivery, SQC initiatives and on-going performance improvement.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Masters in Computer Applications

Experience and Skills

Professional Qualifications (Desired)
•    Certification/Formal Training (proficient Level) in various business application and domain banking knowledge
•    Professional Scrum Master (Desired) / Certified Scrum Master
•    Formal Training/Certification in SDLC.
•    Formal Training/Certification in Digital Transformation/Automation.
•    ITIL V4
•    PMP/Prince 2, PgMP
•    PMI-PBA/CBAP

Work Experience (Required)

Minimum 10 years of experience in a banking / financial environment are pre-requisites for this role. Experience should cover:
Banking and Financial knowledge- Corporate Banking/ Treasury/Trade/ Operations/ Credit/Risk/Support Functions/ Retail business > 10 years
Business Analysis > 10 years
Project Management > 8 years
People Management > 8 years
Relationship Management >8 years
Stakeholder Management >8 years

Experience in an IT organization or a consulting organization or a leading bank is essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes  (Required)
Business Analysis: 
•    Should be well-conversant with software development life cycle and should be able to lead a team to analyse, document and communicate the business requirement in the area of corporate, business, retail banking and support functions in a systematic way. 
•    Knowledge of banking products, platforms and processes like T24, Islamic Banking, accounting rules, regulatory requirements is expected. Good knowledge of internet banking, GL system and workflow procedures including Finance, Accounts Payable, Reconciliation etc. is expected. 
•    Knowledge of Entity relationship diagram, data flow diagram, use case is expected.
•    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Business Processes 
•    Should be strong in the area of Corporate Banking, Treasury, Retail banking, Retail products and Business support functions

Project Management
•    Knowledge of project estimation, risk management and formal planning is essential 
•    Strong understanding with Scrum / Scrumban / Kanban and Agile development methodologies

Technical
•    Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation
•    Familiarity with web, integration and core systems architecture
•    Familiarity with latest technologies – Cloud, AI, ML 
•    Good understanding of Application Architecture
•    Good understanding of various technology stack
•    Working knowledge in SQL and enterprise RDBMS  
•    Experience in managing third-party application and the vendor based on SLA
•    Experience in unit/module/integration testing, test planning, defect tracking etc
•    Familiarity with international service management frameworks such as ITIL/COBIT 
•    Familiarity with IT audit processes
•    Familiarity with Change Management, Problem Management Procedures  
•    Familiarity with software security principles and practises
•    Experience with Agile collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Confluence).

•    Arabic language skills would be an added advantage
