Are you serious about the growth of your career? At NBF, we create individual development plans for each NBF employee. These plans include training programmes, rotations and challenging assignments, all aimed at creating our next generation of leaders.

In 2017, we achieved an average of 5.0 man-days of training per employee. We’re proud of the ways in which we empower each member of our family to realise their full potential.

Within the HR department is our Centre of Excellence team, who follow a three-pronged approach to drive our culture of Learning and Development:

  1. We offer clear development plans and regular performance reviews so that employees know exactly where they are today, where they want to go tomorrow, and what training and development they need to get there.
  2. We ensure that all employees receive a minimum number of training days each year and our range of training programmes includes everything from banking- and finance-related training certifications to soft-skills training, leadership courses and executive management programmes.
  3. We encourage a culture of knowledge sharing and job rotations to equip our employees with a holistic, comprehensive understanding of all aspects of our business.

Development Programmes

Some of our key development programmes include:

  • Corporate Credit Development
    • We train and certify all our Relationship Managers and other key resources under our internal Corporate Credit training certification. Developed using our own wide spectrum of banking/finance case studies, this programme includes a 6-9 day classroom intervention followed by self-paced online assessments.
  • Leadership Development
    • Our internally developed Leadership Development track focuses on cultivating primary leadership competencies among key employees.
  • Banking and Finance certifications and training
    • Our range of Banking and Finance training and certification courses includes certified courses in Trade Finance, Treasury, Corporate Banking, F&A and Compliance.
  • Talent Development
    • At NBF, we believe in creating succession plans for all our key roles by grooming and mentoring our internal team members. We have several training programmes to prepare you for your next role - lateral or vertical.
  • Retail Sales and Service
    • Our specially designed Retail training programmes include Bank Teller Development and Retail Sales and Service Training, among others.
  • Project Management Certification
    • For our employees driving our improvement and enhancement projects, we offer certified courses such as Six Sigma and PMP certifications.
  • Team Building
    • At NBF we regularly hold team building events to improve the working environment across the bank.
